Sharknado (2013)

2/4

Tackling modern anxieties about ecological disaster, particularly in easily floodable LA, Sharknado plays a risky game as a film, caught in a balancing act between delivering its titled promise and putting together a genuine thoughtful drama about Tara Reid looking vaguely disgusted at things whilst her ex-husband tries to keep their family together, clearly inspired in equal parts by Werner Herzog and Uwe Boll. At least that’s what I’m telling myself.
