Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa (2013)

It’s not as good as the TV series – though then again, how many TV-to-film crossovers are? – but Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa is still brilliantly funny and absolutely crackling with fantastic one-liners. You don’t need to be a long-time fan to get it either, though some of the subtler aspects of the character might slip through your fingers; for example, though many have complained that the film’s story, centred around a hostage crisis at the newly-corporatized  North Norfolk Digital Radio station, is a little over-the-top for a TV character who specialises in pedantry, it is in fact exactly the sort of film Alan himself would love to be in if he had the chance. And this being Alan of course, he fucks it up hilariously.
