Shut Up and Play the Hits (2012)

3/4

Concert docs like Shut Up and Play the Hits pretty much only work if you’re a fan of the band in the first place. Having seen LCD Soundsystem live back at Exit Festival 2010, and with that being one of the best shows that year, I obviously enjoyed the live performance. The documentary that’s built around the concert footage however, comprising mostly of an interview with James Murphy and his wandering about the day after the last LCD Soundsystem gig at Madison Square Garden is pretty prosaic, with no particularly revealing insight arising from it. Again, if you’re a fan you’ll enjoy this, if not, you won’t.
